From conceptualization to shipping, every phase of our operations is executed within our studio in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
Born and brought up in Ahmedabad, in my early childhood I used to try to drape myself a saree hideously out of my mom's dupatta; I believe my journey of inclining towards fashion started here. I was always captured by my elderly sisters designing clothes for me to wear at every occasion. They would experiment all the latest designs on me all by themselves. My father (given his entire life in the textile market) was the one who taught me how to look for value in clothes, and how to study them. He would always study the kind of clothes and fabrics I purchase even till today. These moments somehow stayed with me while I grew up to be a graduate in commerce and then decided to start my journey in fashion and textiles. A commitment to presenting traditional craft techniques in its contemporary twist by working closely with artisans in India is what fosters my design process and the magic of simple life experiences is what drives my passion.
We at Kajal Agrawal completely believe in bringing out the complex simplicity attached with handloom textiles and intertwining them with contemporary forms of silhouettes. We practise to represent this little abstract, as said by Gandhi in context with the relation between textiles and weavers, during the freedom movement - “True art must be evidence of happiness, contentment and purity of its authors”
